Khanyisa Wellness Programme

Khanyisa Wellness Programme

It is for these reasons that Agri-IQ have introduced a health and wellness programme as part of their training portfolio in the poverty-bound rural areas of developing countries.

The Khanyisa Wellness Project concentrates on the following areas:

  • Wellness Workplace Policy development
  • Social Change Communication
  • Peer Education training interventions
  • Improving life skills
  • Gender
  • Promotion and access to Counselling and Testing (CT)
  • Care and Support
  • Promotion and access to HIV treatment and related services
Khanyisa Lighting the Way

AGRI-IQ advocates the approach that looks at the contextual cause of wellness related issues, rather than just individual behaviour as a focus of intervention. Individuals live within a context, in which there are things they can control, and others they cannot. All of these have an impact on their behaviour and practices. This requires a multi-level approach that reduces the individuals’ risks and addresses environmental and structural issues that increase vulnerability especially within the HIV/Aids pandemic framework.

AGRI-IQ has developed a prevention and care project, The Khanyisa Wellness Programme. This addresses the different drivers of health related issues, relevant for farm workers and their communities.
