The balmy subtropical climate and fertile soils which characterise the Malalane area of Mpumalanga province, South Africa, are ideal for the large scale production of sugarcane, citrus, mangoes and litchis which are grown on Neos Estate. “Neos” is derived from Greek meaning “new, young and fresh” and true to its name; Neos has always flown in the face of traditional farming conventions by approaching its agribusiness in a fresh and energetic manner.
The Neos success story was born of a commitment by its owners and managers to make a meaningful difference to their agricultural workforce through a sustained social responsibility programme, including skills training for all farm workers, an adult literacy and numeracy programme as well as a wellness awareness programme specifically directed at HIV/Aids.
